The two hottest and most famous Thai bathhouses right now are Maria and Black Caviar. These two places completely split the once-crowded Thai bath scene into two clear tiers: Maria & Black Caviar, and everyone else.

Why did this happen? Mainly because their extremely high prices attracted a higher quality of girls, and the higher quality of girls then attracted a huge number of customers. More customers allowed them to keep raising prices, creating a positive feedback loop. Both places opened around 2019–2020, survived the pandemic, and actually thrived during that period. At one point, Black Caviar even raised their top girl to 100,000 THB for 90 minutes.

Black Caviar Overview

Black Caviar in Bangkok currently sits at a top price of 36,300 THB (prices generally range from about 8,000 to 36,000 THB). In the Thai industry, this is without question the absolute price ceiling.

The most objective way I can describe it is this:

If you experienced the old Dongguan scene in China, you’ll probably be disappointed by Black Caviar.

If you only know today’s Macau, you’ll feel it’s still good value.

For a lot of guys traveling here, Black Caviar puts them in a real dilemma. If you don’t go, it feels like you didn’t fully experience Thailand. If you do go, it feels like you’re getting milked, and your wallet genuinely hurts. If you choose a more cost-effective place instead, when you get back and tell people, the first reaction is usually: “You didn’t even go to Black Caviar or Maria?” Suddenly the whole trip feels incomplete. It’s a classic capital trap. At that moment you start hearing that little voice: “Life is short, why not treat yourself?” Then you grit your teeth and go for it.

From my perspective, I’ve watched the prices climb wave after wave, but the girls’ looks haven’t improved much. What used to be a 10,000 THB face is now priced at 20,000. What used to be 20,000 is now 30,000. The really top-looking girls prefer to go overseas and serve bigger clients.

If Black Caviar had always been positioned as a pure luxury product, I wouldn’t feel the need to speak up for the guys. The strange part is that even after repeated price hikes, demand hasn’t cooled off — it’s actually created a “expensive = famous” effect. Some guys even come specifically just to check it off the list and still force themselves to go.

Sometimes I wonder whether in a couple of years the prices here will reach Macau or Singapore levels. But one of the big reasons Thailand became popular in the first place was the high value for money. So my personal advice is still to spend rationally. I genuinely don’t recommend coming here to play. If we already have this kind of budget, we’d rather go to Bangkok’s clubs and nightclubs. Black Caviar and Maria are better suited for entertaining big clients. Of course, if dropping tens of thousands of baht for 90 minutes is nothing to you, then ignore everything I just said.

Inside Black Caviar

From the outside, Black Caviar doesn’t look like a traditional Thai bathhouse. The building has different levels and a more design-oriented layout. The parking lot in front is very spacious and can easily hold dozens of cars. They also offer Alpha (luxury car) airport pickup for guests. Some VIP clients can be picked up straight from the airport and driven to Black Caviar — of course, that service isn’t cheap either.

The first floor is the lounge/rest area, and it’s usually packed with staff. As soon as you walk in, they welcome you in the lobby. There are almost always Chinese-speaking managers (Chinese customers are the main customer base here). Then they take you up to the second floor, where all the girls are.

The second-floor display area is set up like a bar counter. The girls sit scattered around the bar. You can walk around and look at them yourself, or you can go straight to the sofa area, take the menu, and have the manager bring the girls out in groups for you to choose — similar to a Chinese KTV. The downside of this system is that only 10–20 girls come out at a time, so you can’t compare them all at once like the old-style “goldfish bowl” Thai baths. If you walk around the bar, the girls are spread out, so you have to keep circling to see everyone.

Black Caviar uses wristbands to indicate the girls’ tier/price. In my opinion this is a design flaw. The wristbands are hard to see clearly — you constantly have to look at the girl, then the wristband, then the menu. And who bothers to memorize which color or type of wristband corresponds to which price? You end up having to look down every time and still can’t compare properly.

How to Play at Black Caviar

First way (standard):

After choosing a girl, you can decide whether to eat there or not. The private rooms provide food. To be fair, the kitchen is decent and the dishes rarely disappoint, but the prices are more than double what you’d pay outside. For example, a pad krapao that costs around 150 THB outside is about 300 THB here. For me, at the same price point I can always find better value outside, so unless I’m being treated by someone, I wouldn’t order food here myself. Some guys eat there simply because they’re tired after the session.

The basic play is a private room for one — the classic Thai bath experience: shower, massage, then happy ending. I think everyone here already understands what that involves, so no need to go into detail. If you want more specific techniques or better experiences, you can check my VIP guide (Thai bath section).

As for service quality — honestly, it’s not great. That’s why I say if you’ve experienced the old Dongguan places, you’ll find the service here pretty poor. But if you’ve never done this kind of thing before and treat it as a cheaper alternative to Macau spa, you might think it’s okay. The problem is the price is already not far from Macau levels.

Second way (VIP room):

A lot of people have seen this on short-video platforms. Some claim that the best way to play at Bangkok’s two top places is the VIP room. So how is it actually?

Black Caviar’s VIP rooms have a KTV area, a spa bathtub, and one large room that can be divided into 4–5 smaller rooms. The whole package can hold more than ten people. You can bring a few good brothers and throw a full-on party. There’s also a billiard room — you can play pool, sing, play cards with your girls, or take a couples bath in the tub.

But the prerequisite is that you have to buy enough time with the girls. For example, if you pick a 20,000 THB girl, to properly enjoy the VIP room you’ll need at least 4–5 hours. One 90-minute session is 20,000 THB, so five hours is roughly 50,000 THB per girl. Is that expensive? That money is already enough for two rounds of VIP at a nightclub. So I personally don’t recommend this playstyle. I’m fine with spending money where it’s worth it, but I don’t like wasting money where it isn’t.

Then why do so many people still promote the VIP room?

The “Tour Guide” Scam in Thai Bathhouses

These people will tell you that if you book through them, you’ll get a free VIP room or free drinks. Most people’s first reaction is that the shop and the guide have a commission deal, and the shop will kick back money to the guide.

In reality, in Thailand right now, except for some Chinese-run daily-rate places, the Thai-owned shops (including Black Caviar, Maria, Tara, Lalisa, etc.) do not give commissions to guides. And under Chinese law, taking commission for introducing customers to a prostitution venue is itself illegal. At least we don’t take shop commissions. Any customers who come through guide channels get zero commission from the shops, so the guides can only make money by marking up the prices — and the markup isn’t small. From what I know, they commonly add several thousand baht per girl.

These top places (Tara, Black Caviar, Maria, Lalisa) are all purely Thai-owned, and some even have dual menus. I said the highest price is 36,000 THB, but some menus list 60,000 THB. If you don’t believe me, go once by yourself and once through a guide, quietly remember the prices of different tiers of girls both times, and compare. You’ll see the difference clearly.

So just go by yourself. The lobby has Chinese-speaking managers. Yes, some shady managers might try to overcharge, but at Black Caviar this basically doesn’t happen. Their prices are listed in a big menu they hand you. You don’t need to find anyone to take you.

Some of my members have asked me to take them to Thai baths and I refuse, because the whole process is extremely simple. If you really can’t figure it out, just get my membership service — you can consult me by voice. My way of making money is different from theirs. I want to earn your money openly by providing clear services at clear prices. Some people’s money is easy to trick but hard to earn honestly — I won’t go into that further here. Who knows, after I post this article, some black guide might just run it through AI, tweak it a bit, and throw it up on various video platforms to scam newbies.
