Lately, quite a few friends have been asking me in the DMs: aside from the usual traditional Thai massage, are there any spots in Bangkok with a more unique vibe? Today, I want to share a place I recently checked out called A5 Massage.
To be honest, it has a completely different feel compared to your average massage parlor. It leans more toward a blend of Japanese-style relaxation and body alignment. If you enjoy trying out different types of bodywork, it's definitely worth a look. Their signature treatments are Japanese groin massage and Japanese lymphatic massage.
The overall pace here is much slower, with a strong focus on relaxation and deep stretching—think traction, acupressure, joint mobilization, and full-body unwinding.
Some of the movements even have a slight chiropractor-like feel to them. You might hear a soft "pop" or "crack" from your joints every now and then, which is a totally normal part of physical release. It might feel a bit sore at first, but once it's over, you'll feel completely refreshed and light. If you're someone who spends hours sitting at a desk, glued to your phone, or taking long-haul flights frequently, this kind of massage is honestly a game-changer.

Location
The shop is located right in the heart of Bangkok’s bustling Sukhumvit Soi 22, making it pretty accessible—though you do have to tuck into a small alleyway to find it. One thing worth mentioning is that the staff here are absolute lookers; you can definitely tell the Japanese owner has strict standards.
Environment
The building spans five floors and currently features 17 rooms. The interior isn't hyper-luxurious, but it’s spotless, neat, and creates a cozy, comfortable atmosphere. They offer three room sizes: small, medium, and large.

Treatment Types
The menu mainly consists of different combinations of durations and techniques, offering both solo and couple sessions. First-timers often stress over what to choose, but you can simply pick based on your schedule.
The general routine goes like this:
Initial body relaxation.
Stretching and pressure techniques.
Targeted body soothing.
The whole process is geared toward pure relaxation. If you've ever had a Japanese oil massage before, you'll find this style super easy to get into.
Hours & Best Time to Visit
Hours: 11:00 AM – 1:00 AM
Pro-tip: I personally recommend going in the afternoon or evening. Things start to pick up around 3 PM, creating a livelier vibe. If you go too early, you might have fewer options to choose from.
That said, reservations are a must. This place is insanely popular with Japanese expats and tourists—they practically roll in one after another. Because the staff are so gorgeous, slots fill up fast, so booking ahead is the only way to guarantee you won't miss out.
Fun Fact: Not only are the therapists gorgeous, but the front desk staff are absolute stunners too. Literally, whenever I put the receptionist in the first few seconds of my video, it goes viral instantly! Across every single platform—not just IG, even Douyin (TikTok China) goes crazy for them. Talk about universally recognized beauty across the globe!
Pricing & Perks
The pricing is quite reasonable and offers great value for money. Plus, they have complimentary lollipops and fruit waiting for you inside. But honestly? My absolute favorite part is their Hokkaido ice cream.
